The City of Lappeenranta has published a double-sided cycle map. On the front side is a close-up map of Lappeenranta, with the main cycle routes shown in dark blue, local routes shown in light blue, and the South Karelia pedestrian and cycle route shown in red. Also marked on the map are Lappeenranta’s most important destinations and sights, cycle and accommodation services, and tourist information points. On the reverse side is a map of the city centre and nearby areas, which shows the routes suitable for both tourists and local residents. The reverse side also includes route descriptions, distances, and destinations and sights along the routes. The map is currently available free of charge in three languages: Finnish, English and Russian.
For many years now, the City of Lappeenranta has promoted cycling in collaboration with active local cyclists. Methods of promotion have included cycling events and the planning and repair of cycle routes. Main cycle routes between city districts have been improved by lowering kerbs, upgrading road surfaces, creating new cycle routes and adding signs along existing routes. In recognition of these activities, Lappeenranta was named the Cycling Municipality of the Year 2015.
The new cycle map is available from the following locations:
- Tourist information points at IsoKristiina Shopping Centre
- The Sandcastle Tourist Info (June–August)
- Customer Service Centre Winkki, City Hall, 1st floor

The cycle map is also distributed to the Lappeenranta University of Technology and Saimaa University of Applied Sciences students on the Skinnarila campus.
